DCG Revision - Interpentration of Solids

This week we're going to focus on Interpenetration of Solids. In essence this topic is about finding the Orthographic Views of a solid cutting through another solid. The ultimate aim of Interpenetration of Solids questions is to find the Line/s of Interpenetration. This topic can come up on the exam as a short question in Section A or a long question in Section B. There are four different methods to solve these problems:
  1. Limits Method - Auxiliary Views
  2. Radial Elements Method - Cones and Pyramids
  3. Horizontal Section Method - Universal
  4. Vertical Section Method - Universal

You need to know all of the above methods as you can be asked to use a specific method in the exam.
