In this weeks revision blog we look at Assemblies which are the final Applied Geometry topic on the Leaving Certificate Examination paper.Read More
In this weeks revision blog we look at Geologic Geometry which is the first Applied Geometry topic on the Leaving Certificate Examination paper.
It is split into 3 main areas, all of which are usually on the paper.
- Mining Geometry
- Earthen works (Road Geometry)
This week we focus on the Development topic. Developments are a key topic in Junior Cycle Technical Graphics and the Leaving Certificate progression is not that much of a leap. This topic does not come up often but it can be examined in Section A or Section B. Developments are also a very important part of Surface Geometry in Section C.Read More
This week we will be revising the Cube and the Tetrahedron. These are two important shapes as they have unique characteristics and a number of specific constructions that you need to know. This topic has come up in Section A in the past.Read More
This week we are looking at Perspective Projection. Perspective Projection is the topic in board drawing which most closely resembles what the human eye sees when you look at an object.Read More
This weeks topic is the first Pictorial Projection topic. It is the most closely aligned Pictorial topic to the rest of the course as Axonometric views are created using projections from the principal planes of reference onto an Axonometric plane.Read More
This weeks revision topic is more of a concept than an entire topic. Finding the traces of a plane is part of the Oblique Plane topic but it can be asked in many different ways. The most common topics for traces to be asked as part of are Solids in Contact, Laminar Planes, Axonometric Projection.Read More
This weeks topic is Skew Lines. Skew Lines can come up in Section A, Section B and they are also an important part of Geologic Geometry in Section C. Skew Lines is another one of those vital topics as chances are that it will appear somewhere on your Leaving Cert paper.Read More
The topic we will be revising this week is Laminar Planes. Laminar Planes are part of the Oblique Planes section of the course. The constructions in this topic are fundamental can could be used for a number of topics in DCG.Read More
This week we're going to focus on Interpenetration of Solids. In essence this topic is about finding the Orthographic Views of a solid cutting through another solid. The ultimate aim of Interpenetration of Solids questions is to find the Line/s of Interpenetration. This topic can come up on the exam as a short question in Section A or a long question in Section B.Read More
This week we focus on the Solids in Contact topic. This topic is all about drawing Orthographic Views of tangential solids. The shapes that we need to focus on are Cones, Spheres, Hemispheres, Pyramids and Cylinders.Read More
